An Islamist group has kidnapped three relatives of Iraqi puppet prime minister Iyad Allawi and have said they will kill them in 48 hours if the US-led assault on Falluja is not stopped.

In protest over the Falluja attack, the influential Sunni political party said Tuesday that it was withdrawing from the interim Iraqi government and was calling for Iraqis to boycott the elections next year.
