Rep. Tom Lantos, a member of the speaker's delegation, responds (paraphrased):
"Let's be clear. I'll even use simple words to make it easier for you to understand, but since my statements will not be shown on Fox News this is most likely an exercise in futility. Here goes: Speaker Pelosi acted well within the bounds of current U.S. foreign policy...Indeed.
"Nor did Speaker Pelosi challenge the president's right to make foreign policy. Far from it. As the Washington Post reported Thursday, "Foreign policy experts generally agree that Pelosi's dealings with Middle East leaders have not strayed far, if at all, from those typical for a congressional trip. No matter what that professional lickspittle Fred Hiatt says.
