She's a Chesapeake Bay Retriever.

The cats are all in hiding!

Chesapeake Bay Retriever

I thought "water dog" immediately. She's beautiful, Maru. Best of luck.

The cuteness, it kills.

I had a Chesapeak bay once. Great
dogs, and very protective.

The puppy came woobie-enhanced?

Very cute. I wonder how long it will take your cats to get over their drama. I have a couple who suffer meltdown whenever something changes in their world. They'll spend up to a week refusing to come out of my clothes cupboard except to eat and go to the litterbox. I couldn't imagine what would happen if I brought a puppy into the house!

Peace,
Fiona

JB: yes!

southernquebec: the bf, who's has chessies before, says the eyes will turn an olive color as she gets older

tata: yes, she came with the woobie, but what she really likes to play with are sticks. And my nose may never be the same. Darn puppy teeth!

Hard to breathe in the presence of all that cuteness. Brings back memories of when my brown dog was small....

Good luck with the puppy devil teeth stage.

Ah, a Chesapeake Bay Retriever. She looks like a little furball.

You know, I used to spend months of crabbing and shucking oysters in the summertime on the C.B., and don't recall ever seeing one there.

Maybe because I didn't hunt ducks, that is what they are bred for?

If so, she'll be one of those dogs with something in her mouth all the time. I had a buddy that had a Lab, and she would fetch a rock thrown in the deep end of my folk's pool, 9ft down, over, and over, and over....... dive in, circle down a few feet, locate, come up for air, go down and get it.

We'd throw a stick in the creek, hold her for a few minutes, then let her go find it.

That way, we had a few minutes of rest, hahahaha.

A black Great Dane and her slipped off one night, and I had the best black Lab/Great Dane cross puppy you would ever see.

Lucky you, maru.
