Gonzales f*cked us, say state AGs
State Attorney Generals met with Alberto Gonzales less than a year ago and requested a federal investigation into the oil industry. Guess what happened then...

Richard Blumenthal, Attorney General for the State of Connecticut:

“We pleaded with Attorney General Gonzales and FTC Chairman Majoras to begin an investigation of the oil industry, and we offered our partnership in that work. All 50 Attorneys General have hands full investigating monopolistic abuses on the part of the oil industry, but we lack the authority, and expertise, and resources of the federal government. And so we invited, we beseeched the federal government to join us in that investigation and they have declined to do so."

The US Attorney General blows off concerned citizens, fellow AGs.

Fuck-it, maybe it was better that Gonzales DIDN'T investigate the oil industry because:
1.) It would've been a sham investigation anyway.
2.) The sheeple in this country are not going to get politically aroused UNTIL their gas prices get up to $5 or $6 per gallon! Most of them don't seem to care that much if a lot of people get killed (including neighbor-kids or even their own sons) but don't let that gas price go up! I'm getting cynical enough to believe that it was $3/gallon gas that really got the electorate honked-off enough to start voting against the Republicans!
