Keepin' us safer
The federal government is spending up to $4 million on a publicity campaign to publicize a 200th anniversary celebration while cutting $700,000 from hurricane research, the National Hurricane Center's director said Thursday.

Fun fact: a vital hurricane-detecting satellite is ready for the crapper and should be replaced, experts say.
