Breach of security
State Dept orders top-secret plans of the $592 million US embassy in Baghdad to be removed from website

The plans show a complex roughly the size of 80 football fields, that will contain two office buildings -- one of them designed for use as a school -- six apartment buildings, a gym, a pool, a food court, a theatre, a polo field, tennis courts, an 18-hole championship golf course, a shopping mall, video stores, and its own power generation and water-treatment plants, surrounded by two moats, quicksand, guard towers, and miles of electrified barbed-wire fences tipped with curare.

The real damage of these images comes from bolstering the perception of a long-term U.S. occupation. While Americans will be living in posh quarters, the citizens of Baghdad are currently surviving with just 5.6 hours of electricity a day and in appalling living conditions. Baghdad was also recently rated the world's worst city to live in.
Winning hearts and minds every goddammed day.

I saw the building plans before the site was taken down. Two points here:

1) American businessmen would proudly show pictures of their mothers blowing goats to make a buck. ("If we hang the Capitalists, we'll do it with the rope they sold us"--Lenin)

2) The plans won't matter because it's such a big fucking target you won't be able to avoid killing somebody by lobbing a mortar or firing a rocket at it.
