Dems draw wrath of voters
The new Democratic-led Congress is drawing the ire of voters upset with its failure to deliver on a promise to end the Iraq war.

"Voters are going to be mad with us until we end the war," said Sen. I. M. Obvious Joe Biden in an interview with Duh! Weekly.

Poor Joe. He reminds me of the guy who dances one beat off.

The Dems keep using that line that "we don't have enough votes to override Bush" which, while technically true, doesn't mean they can't get a lot done with their chairmanships and congressional control. They could have held the budget hostage -- keep sending the same or similar back to Bush, with a timetable and Iraq War spending reductions 'hard-coded' into it. Let him keep vetoing it and let HIM shut-down the government and see how quickly the Republicans who want to get re-elected change their tune.

But that's not what the Dems are up to, I fear. Their trying to use the old Clinton 'triangulation' crapola -- be left of the neo-cons, but not do anything that would jeporadize their corporate & rich benefactor campaign contributions. If all of Wall Street wanted this Iraq War over, you can bet that troops would be home within two months (the commercial forces trump even our militarism).

If these weak-kneed Democrats would just vote the way their constituents (the human ones, not the corporate ones) want they would have the majority of the American people behind them. At that point they could point to the republicans in Congress as the obstructionists and perhaps peel a few of the moderates away to override a veto. This is all theoretically possible in a political environment where voters and grassroots movements mean more than largess from big business.

I just want to take the Congressional Dems by the scruff of the neck and scream at them "listen to the people!! We're SICK of this shit!!! What would your mother want you to do???"

Democrats are not week-kneed, spineless, fearful or out-voted - they're FASCISTS and the sooner voting Dems realize it, the better.

Throw. them. all. out.
