McCain returns to NH
Without the gay sweaters.
On his way to yesterday's town meeting, Mr. McCain spent Friday night in Springfield, Vt., which last week was proclaimed the official Springfield of The Simpson's television show. The setting was appropriate for a campaign whose recent slogan might have been, "D'oh!"Saint McCain, who was "greeted at the hall by a mocking interloper in a rubber McCain mask shaking coins in a tin cup," faced voters who quizzed the senator on immigration, 9/11 conspiracy theories, the war in Iraq, and what the hell happened to his campaign.
