Makin' progress
Heartwarming stories from Iraq on how well the surge is working:

  • A report by the British House of Commons' foreign affairs committee says the 'surge' in Iraq appears likely to fail: "[I]t does not look likely to succeed," the MPs concluded. "We believe that the success of this strategy will ultimately ride on whether Iraq's politicians are able to reach agreement on a number of key issues."

  • A suicide truck bomber struck a bridge outside Baghdad on Tuesday, sending cars plunging into the river and killing at least 10 people in the second attack on the span in three months.

  • Bonus: the article uses the phrase "seeks to save his crumbling government."

If we keep reminding ourselves what the real plan for Iraq has been -- to act as a Roach Motel for terrorists -- then we should also realise that as long as the occupation continues and as long as brown-skinned people are being mass-murdered, then it is not failing.

What we should realize more than anything is, this war is a dishonorable, unjust form of fascist genocide of the Arab people (and their Muslim neighbors) and as long as the illegal occupation of Iraq continues so will the genocide.

I don't know about ya'll, but this is NOT the U.S.A. that I was raised to believe in.
