Bringin' freedom an' democritude to Iraq!

If by "democracy" you mean "fuck you guys, we own you." Purple-fingered Iraqis get the middle finger from the White House:

Despite opposition from Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, US "security" company Blackwater was back on the streets of Baghdad on Friday, four days after being grounded over a fatal shooting incident massacre of innocent civilians.

Blackwater guards, whom a furious Maliki wanted replaced after they opened fire in Baghdad killing 10 people, were on Friday protecting US personnel on limited missions, a US spokeswoman told AFP.
Fun fact: Maliki, in the freedom-loving US for the United Nations General Assembly, tells the AP that the Blackwater situation is a "serious challenge to the sovereignty of Iraq.'"

Maliki better be careful of how he plays his hand or he'll end up like another 'elected' US puppet,
Ngo Dinh Diem back in the 50's-60's in Vietnam -- he was assassinated 'by his generals'(who had prior promises of US support if the assassination took place).

It's hard to think that these US installed figurehead 'leaders' actually believe that they have any real control, especially when you've got US troops & Blackwater mercenaries wandering around freely, but I suppose the old cliché about 'power corrupts' (and absolute power corrupts absolutely) is appropriate..
