I think of Izzard as the perfect dinner-guest: utterly relaxed, amiable to all and endlessly entertaining.

Sorting through all the wet canteen trays was realy sharp observation.

A good companion to this might be Robot Chicken's Darth Vader/Emperor phone call.

My favorite sustained stand-up routine is EI's "Dressed to Kill" (DTK) , from the the mid-90's filmed in San Francisco. It's hilarious - much like this bit but even funnier (in my opinion). The part on imperialism (early European settlers in the US and the British in India, etc) is unusual for a comedian, but he pulls it off without being dull or pedantic, and is LOL amusing. You can see some of the clips from DTK on this You-Tube segment at the END of this Star Wars Cantina clip -- just look near the bottom of the block just above the 'play' controls. There are 6 or 7 clips, and the ones with EI in the black outfit with the whitish flowers are the ones from the DTK concert. It's also on HBO sometimes or the BBC channel (with swear-editing).
