Our Sickening Health Care

In a not so startling revelation that supports the meme that America has the best health care in the world, a recent report cites that health insurance companies are paying bonuses for dropping sick policyholders.

Woodland Hills-based Health Net Inc. avoided paying $35.5 million in medical expenses by rescinding about 1,600 policies between 2000 and 2006. During that period, it paid its senior analyst in charge of cancellations more than $20,000 in bonuses based in part on her meeting or exceeding annual targets for revoking policies, documents disclosed Thursday showed.
Ah , free markets at work . I sure am glad we don't have any of that awful big government socialized healthcare, aren't you?

Gee - - big surprise... a FOR PROFIT entity (which -- like most other corporations -- HIGHLY rewards it's executive employees for increasing PROFIT) is only in it for the money!?!?!! Who knew? Oh..that's right...EVERYBODY knows, even the American sheeple (who, however, somehow think that voting for Republicans is somehow going to PREVENT this instead of accentuating it??). All one has to do is read a few factual articles* and you quickly realize that our health care 'system' is closer to health care SCAM.

that is so disturbing! that's like something straight out of that movie "sicko". it's not that surprising at the same time which is why i'm working to support AARP who are trying to get Congress to make Medicare available to the people who cannot afford it. you should check out their website at http://www.thisissoridiculous.com and sign their online petition and make your voice heard! you can also view videos, email Congress, and make donations on there!
