Honoring Veterans Republicunt Style

A group of soldiers who fought "to protect our freedoms" was arrested on Veteran's day for exercising the freedom of speech:

The Boston chapter of a group called Veterans for Peace estimated 15 of its members and supporters were arrested Sunday at the event sponsored by the American Legion.
"We're opposed to the U.S. invasion of Iraq; we're opposed to the planned invasion of Iran," said group member Winston Warfield, a Vietnam War veteran. "A lot of veterans view us as traitors."
Not to be outdone, the Veterans Day Parade Committee in Long Beach, California banned a veteran's group from participating in the parade because of their anti-war views:
Iraq veteran Jason Lemieux might not be marching in the 11th annual Long Beach Veterans Day Parade on Saturday.
The Marine, who served three tours of duty in Iraq and is now against the war, was hoping to march as a member of Iraq Veterans Against the War, a national organization that calls for immediate withdrawal of troops in Iraq.
The group's application, however, was rejected last month because of its political views, parade coordinators said.
Because, you know, it's important to keep the parade free of politics by keeping out anyone who is in political disagreement with the Presidunce and including those who do agree.
And how fitting indeed it was to have Pretzelnit McFlightsuit honoring Veteran's day by giving a speech to scare the living shit out of his already wetting the bed supporters:
"America is blessed to have such brave defenders. They are tomorrow's veterans and they are bringing pride to our country. Their service is noble and it is necessary," he said. "The enemies who attacked us six years ago want to strike our country again, and next time they hope to kill Americans on a scale that will make 9/11 pale by comparison."
Freedom is just another word for "Shut the fuck up."
