The House ethics committee said Thursday it was beginning an investigation into the conduct of rethuglican Rep. Rick Renzi, who was slapped with 137 federal indictments this past week for corruption, extortion, wire fraud, money laundering, insurance fraud and more corruption.
The panel said in a statement it had created a four-member subcommittee to determine whether Renzi violated any laws, rules or standards of conduct with respect to any of the matters for which he was indicted.Gee, I don't know -- sounds pretty standard for a House member.
