If the gpukes want to throw dirt around, there are people more than happy to take up the challenge: The 1st wife Saint McCain brutally left behind --
"My marriage ended because John McCain didn’t want to be 40, he wanted to be 25..."
Some of [Carol] McCain’s acquaintances are less forgiving, however. They portray the politician as a self-centred womaniser who effectively abandoned his crippled wife to ‘play the field’. They accuse him of finally settling on Cindy, a former rodeo beauty queen, for financial reasons.
In 1979 – while still married to Carol – he met Cindy at a cocktail party in Hawaii. Over the next six months he pursued her, flying around the country to see her. Then he began to push to end his marriage.
‘This is a guy who makes such a big deal about his character. He has no character. He is a fake. If there was any character in that first marriage, it all belonged to Carol.’
But Ross Perot, who paid her medical bills all those years ago, now believes that both Carol McCain and the American people have been taken in by a man who is unusually slick and cruel – even by the standards of modern politics.

lets see--intelligent? Not particularly. Honest? Not really, just look at the lobbyists and don't forget the Keating Five. Maverick? I have not seen such blatant pandering and flipflopping at least since the other GOP candidates dropped out. Character? Well I guess the first wife's story tells it all. Unfortunately he will probably win--Americans relate to people like McCain, just look at who won in 2004
I sadly agree with 'anonymous' above -- I suspect there's a substantial chance that McInsane will win the presidency. Too many of the US Sheeple are proud of their political ignorance -- they virtually revel in it -- so reason & humanity are lost on them. They easily fall prey to simplistic manipulation ('A-rabs are after you' or 'homos want to marry your son/daughter' or 'a decorated war hero is not a war hero but an AWOL TNG Chickenhawk is a heroic figure--and a 'compassionate conservative too', etc, etc.) And when some of us can recall how Nixon (fucking NIXON!) won election in 1968 and re-election in 1972, it's not that hard to envision McCane getting elected. Sad, tragic, perverted - yes -- but unfortunately realistically possible.
He won't win if we all work really hard to make sure he doesn't. Which is SO what we need to do.
