TireGate

Why do the Rethugs hate NASCAR fans? Although NASCAR's web site reiterates that:

Tire maintenance [is] key to safety, fuel economy...

Grumpy McSenile has latched on to this point to try to put that Islamofascistterrorlistloverblackguy in line:

Yesterday, he [Obama] suggested that we put air in our tires to save on gas. My friends, let's do that. But do you think that's enough to break our dependance on Middle Eastern oil? I don't think so.

Well, of course, Obama never said that keeping tires at the correct pressure would "break out dependance on Middle Eastern oil." As ThinkProgress.Org notes:

Part of McCain's solution ot energy independence and high gas prices is to "immediately" start "drilling off shore." Such an approach would yield a savings of 6 cents/gallon two decades from now, in addition to putting to [sic] the planet in peril. By contrast, car maintenance can save 12 cents/gallon immediately.

I suspect the only time McStain has used to a tire gauge was when his Viagra failed and Cindy was becoming impatient.
