All networks, except Fox, claim weekly honors

That sorta says it all right there, doesn't it.

I'm glad that Fox is LAST among the 'significant' networks! The ONLY thing that will cure this country of the Reich-wing fever that too many of it's inhabitants possess is education and clear thinking, and a sign that it MAY be happening is when things like Fox, the Repukes, evangelicals, and similar examples of hucksterism fall out of favor. However, the shows that ARE popular certainly aren't intellectually inspiring -- too many 'reality' ('orchestrated conflicts' is a better description) shows or sports.

Quoting a definitely smug quote from the 1962 movie "The Manchurian Candidate" by the main character Raymond Shaw (Laurence Harvey): "There are two kinds of people in this world: Those that enter a room and turn the television set on, and those that enter a room and turn the television set off." Of course it quickly loses much of it's elitism and cachet when Shaw is discovered to have been brainwashed and has a lot of mother-son problems, etc, but I think there's a significant amount of truth to it..

(Quote is compliments of www.imdb.com, an excellent source for movie trivia if you're ever looking for that lost tidbit)
