Who Would Jesus Assassinate?

Reich wing "Pastor" Rick Warren pontificates that assassination is reasonable, legitimate, and approved by the Bible. One wonders if Jesus preached that the assassination thing comes before or after that turning the other cheek business.

I just don't get fundamentalists.

The Christian fundamentalists suffer a total disconnect by accusing the "other" side of evil while calling for assassination and the use of violence because their ideology is rooted in the belief that they must stop their way of life.

Both sides are exactly alike and are waging a my god's better than your god type of argument.

I think neither side will be happy until they've managed to wipe out humanity entirely in some misguided belief that this is what their gods want them to do.

Well, I guess humans have had a pretty good run. Time for the next phase to begin after our extinction is brought about by a few crazies. What a waste.

Dee -- Actually in geological/biological terms, human beings have had a incredibly SHORT run... only about 100,000 years in our latest genetic version -- maybe 6 or 7 million years if you include our predecessors in the Olduvai Gorge, but only about 15,000 yrs if you significant writing skills. Contrast that with the dinosaurs who -- as an entire group -- lived some 100+ MILLION years, or some of the reptiles (crocodiles) who are unchanged in 220 million years.
And I tend to agree that man will virtually destroy himself (my first bet would be nuclear war, but a close second would be some sort of human-originated environmental disaster) within the next 1000 yrs.
