Krugman picks wrong week to quit sniffing glue

Our favorite op-guy agrees: Unbelievably, after all that’s happened, Dems continue to be spineless jellyfish.

"It should be a simple message (and it should have been the central message in Massachusetts): a vote for a Republican, no matter what you think of him as a person, is a vote for paralysis.

"But by now, we know how the Obama administration deals with those who would destroy it: it goes straight for the capillaries. Sure enough, Robert Gibbs, the White House press secretary, accused Mr. Shelby of 'silliness.' Yep, that will really resonate with voters."
'Silliness.' He should watch more of that guy on SNL playing Rahm Emanuel, for crying out loud.

Above: someone more threatening than Robert Gibbs.

Fucking Dems! Why the hell aren't they calling the Repukes' bluff??? So LET these Repuke assholes shut-down the government (via filibuster or whatever arcane Senate rule is used) - - let the Social Security checks stop being printed, and the government payroll checks, and military, and the FBI/air-traffic controllers, etc, etc! (Ideally this should be done a month or so before elections in 2010). And when this country's commerce contracts by 10,20,30% or more in a week -- and people are screaming -- make sure they know it was because the Repukes shut-down the government. One episode like that would solve this problem.
