GOP leaders cut and run on immigration bill
Party before country.

Republicans, their collective panties in a knot over the possibility of election losses this fall, kill the immigration bill for the year.

"Our number one priority is to secure the House and Senate this fall," Speaker Dennis Hastert, R-Idiot, practically came right out and said.

"I think it is easy to say the first priority of the House is to secure the House for the republican party," Rep. Roy Blunt might as well have added.

"The discussion now is how to put the Democrats in a box without attacking the president," said one aide, speaking on condition of anonymity. "The hell with border security."
