Blame monumental stubbornness, misplaced loyalty or failure to grasp reality. Whatever the reason, Awol von Dumbass insists on keeping Alberto Gonzales, an old friend and legal adviser, as attorney general. And Gonzales insists on staying, damn him defying the meaning of the word 'justice" predictions he'd step down for the good of the country be long gone by now.

The fact is, the attorney general has lost his credibility. His shifting, conflicting versions of who decided to fire eight prosecutors, and why, has made him look either profoundly inept or sloppy with the truth. Or both Each day, it seems, evidence mounts that the Gonzales "Justice" Department is a politicized outpost of the White House, rather than the independent dispenser of justice it's supposed to be.

The Justice Department and the American people deserve better than a discredited, politicized, presidential pudsnacker wounded attorney general. Even if the Senate can't man up and muster enough votes to pass a no-confidence resolution, it's long past time for the president to channel his legendary loyalty away from his old friend and toward the public interest.

Yeah, good luck with that.

"They can have their votes of no confidence, but it's not going to make the determination about who serves in my government," the Dictator-tot said, drawing a complete blank on the whole 'for the people, by the people' thing.

"This process has been drug out a long time," Bush, who certainly is no stranger to drugs, added. "It's political."
