An evolving GOP approach to family values?

What's with the fucking question mark, AP?

The first two sentences of the piece do not capture the tone of the article, as it quickly deteriorates into yet another dripping paean to the GOP.

Dan Quayle struck a nerve in 1992 when he went after the TV series "Murphy Brown" by saying its depiction of a single mother was irresponsible and set a bad example for America. The Republican vice president said the fictional character was "mocking the importance of fathers by bearing a child alone and calling it just another `lifestyle choice.'"

'Boy, was he a douche!' the author might as well have added. That's when the virtual orchestra starts building to its triumphant, messy crescendo of joyous repuke ejaculatoration.

This is rich. Talk about double standards. Rethugs have spent years denigrating 'Godless' libs for their supposedly hedonistic lifestyle of orgies and blowjobs and shit, bewailing the horrible message it was sending to children, but now that its happened to one of them -- now that they have their own personal Paris Hilton -- its fucking all-squeaky-clean-American. “Life happens.” La! You can almost see the little Disneyesque bluebirds chirping overhead. Oh fucking please. In other words, screw personal responsiblity along with morality: you can now do anything you damn well please. As long as you don't have an abortion, of course. Or have a 'D' after your name. Which is probably the same thing to them. Maureen Dowd:

It seems like a long time — and another McCain ago — that Republicans supporting W. smeared the old John McCain by spreading rumors that he had fathered an illegitimate black child.

You know its bad when not even Lindsay Lohan's buying the bullshit:

I am concerned with the fact that Sarah Palin brought the attention to her daughter's pregnancy, rather than all world issues and what she believes she could possibly do to change them -- if elected. I get Sarah Palin's views against abortion, but i would much prefer to hear more about what she can do for our country rather than how her daughter is going to have a child no matter what. Maybe focus on delivering some words and policy with stronger impact like Joe Biden.
