Like totally awesome California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger said on Tuesday he welcomes a public debate on proposals to legalize and tax marijuana, which some suggest could provide a lucrative new revenue source.

They had a poll (damned if I can remember where I saw it) that was taken on this out there in Cali and 54% agree with legalization. They figure if they tax it like alcohol (21 and older) that they can reap $1.2 billion/year in taxes.
Now if we could get them to do that here in 'Sconsin I'd be happier than a pig in mud!

Yup, yes siree...there was article in local paper weeks ago quoting a politician getting all wet while saying they'd tax us for $100.00 an ounce.
Now, not many people buy by the ounce these days/years/decades soooo...the dealers had a collective sigh of relief since $100 tax would keep their customers right where they are now.
