How mavericky! How roguish!
[Sarah] Palin “hinted she’d likely sit down with a string of friendly faces during the tour that begins in two weeks.” Indeed, Palin is hoping to do interviews mainly with Fox News hosts and contributors:If by “interviews” you mean “reciprocal hummers," then yeah.
“We’re in the process of arranging interviews with local and national media. An interview with Oprah Winfrey is already scheduled, and I’m also hoping to have the opportunity to talk with Bill O’Reilly, Barbara Walters, Sean Hannity, Greta Van Susteren, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, Laura Ingraham, Dennis Miller, Tammy Bruce, and others, including local Alaska personalities Bob & Mark and Eddie Burke. (Variety is the spice of life!)”
What a maverick!

A continued sign of a diminutive political faction. If you can't even handle a MAINSTREAM-media interview, (with it's typical orientation towards fluff, sensationalism and lack of substantial issues, and inherent economically conservative bias*) than it's a sure sign that your political group is going to be relegated to a splinter status. I don't blame a left-leaning individual for NOT going on FOX, and I can see why a right winger (wacko-opportunist?) like Palin wouldn't want to go on a Olberman/Maddow/Stewart type of show -- you've both got firm political beliefs and nobody in the audience is going to change, so what's the point? But IF you want to increase the size and hence the power/influence of your party, you virtually HAVE to be able to handle the MSM interviews/format in today's political world. THAT'S where the audience of 'undecided' yahoos** reside - - people who CAN be swayed in one direction or the other. Otherwise you're just preaching to the proverbial choir and your influence will remain at the single per-cent level (as one can only HOPE in this instance!)
[*the MSM is composed of profit making entities, so they're NOT going to be seriously presenting any socialist/communist/leftist ideas]
(**you know, the ones who can't pay enough attention to politics to decide if invading other countries for control of their oil is right or wrong, or supporting dictators who torture/kill their people is right or wrong, whether 'jobless recoveries' are right or wrong, whether unlimited military 'defense' spending is right or wrong, etc, etc)
