Empathy and racism in the Supreme Court

"When I get a case about discrimination, I have to think about people in my own family who suffered discrimination because of their ethnic background or because of religion or because of gender. And I do take that into account."

-- SC Justice Sammy "the bulldinky" Alito, appointed by the Dictator-tot in 2005.

Gahhhh!!

Replacing the one Tom "immigrants are the same color as my poop" Tancredo broke the other day, another IronyMeter has been totally destroyed -- this time by the off-the-charts snivelling of fat, closeted Nazi windbag Rush Limbaugh:

"I don't want to shut her up. I don't think she should be censored. But the double standard here, we're talking about the Supreme Court, the highest court in the land where policy is made. Look, bigotry is bigotry. Racism is racism. Superiority is superiority. Contempt for people beneath you is contempt for people beneath you. Thinking you're better than everybody else is thinking you're better than everybody else. This woman has all of this. There's not a whole lot of humility here."

Dude, look who's talking. Good gravy. I just can't understand why he hasn't been struck by lightning yet. He's a big enough target.

"He chose Sonia Sotomayor because she is the mirror image of his racial attitudes. I want her walking up those steps and providing some justice! Could have been Al Sharpton saying that."

Aaaaaaaaaand the rightwingnut blogodrome answers with more bigotry, racism and contempt.

Repug 'shuns' heads, assholes of party

With loads of Hispanic constituents in his state, Texas senator bites the bullet and braves the almost-certain assreaming from the Dittoverse for the sake of his career --

Sen. John Cornyn tonight repudiated the allegation that Judge Sonia Sotomayor is "racist" - and he distanced himself in no uncertain terms from the conservative opinion leaders who leveled that charge against the Supreme Court nominee, Newt Gingrich and Rush Limbaugh.

"I think it's terrible. This is not the kind of tone that any of us want to set when it comes to performing our constitutional responsibilities of advice and consent," Cornyn said.

Asked by NPR if he's worried that comments like Limbaugh and Gingrich's harm the confirmation debate, Cornyn said: "Neither one of these men are elected Republican officials. I just don't think it's appropriate and I certainly don't endorse it. I think it's wrong."

Ohhhhhhh boy. The reactions from freetardia are what you'd expect:

  • Rush has more listeners in ONE WEEK than Cornyn had in his entire CAREER. {Bwaaaa! - Ed.}

  • RINO girlyman Cornyn needs a primary challenger.

  • The RINOs are so spineless I wonder if Hillary is playing around with the FBI files again! {??? - Ed.}

  • I can’t wait to listen to Rush’s show tomorrow. {LOL. I bet, you pathetic, spoonfed dittomonkey - Ed.}

  • I agree with Rush’s and Newt’s assessment of Sotomayor but I agree with Cornyn that it should not be used to decide whether to support her nomination or not.

  • Maybe if you think a little deeper like Rush and Newt, you might come to a different conclusion.... {Priceless! - Ed.}

  • Senator Cornyn is a living, breathing example of how spineless the McCain wing of the Repub Party is.

  • He's "my" senator, too, and my FAXES to him of late go unanswered. {Gee. Wonder why THAT could be. - Ed.}

  • From today's 'WTF Cares' bureau

"I think it takes a lot of gall for him to come into Michigan without acknowledging the damage that his policies have done to the state," Mark Brewer, chairman of the state Democratic Party, said.

    Soft-on-terra America-hating defeatocrap: Cheney's full of shit

National Security Advisor and retired Marine four-star general James Jones says that the US is safer under Obama than it was under the Bush/Cheney Torture misadministration.

Jones, speaking to some forum, countered dick Cheney's halfbaked claim that America is now less safe: "I firmly believe that the United States is not only safe, but will be more secure, and the American people are increasingly safer because of the president's leadership that he has displayed consistently over the last four months both at home and abroad."

Jones said that Guantanamo has served as a recruitment tool for insurgents, and as a result has probably created more terrorists than it detained.

Having not read the "SHE'S A RACIST" memo, funny underwear-wearing failed Rushthuglibot Presidential candidate spews out one of the tried, tired failed Reich-Wingnut talking points

"The nomination of Judge Sonia Sotomayor is troubling. Her public statements make it clear she has an
expansive view of the role of the judiciary. Historically, the Court is where judges interpret the Constitution
and apply the law. It should never be the place "where policy is made," as Judge Sotomayor has said."
Wrong again, Flipper the Fudgepacker. Let Senate Guru explain:

Going back to my grade school social studies class, we learned that there are three sources of "policy":

    1. laws passed by the legislative branch,
    2. executive orders signed in the executive branch, and
    3. judicial decisions handed down in the judicial branch.

Judges don't make laws. But they do make policy. And any conservative - or Republican Senator - who disagrees with that should probably have to repeat the fourth grade.

Might as well, they are already acting like fourth graders. Which HAS to make one wonder: How could anybody who DID make it through 4th grade be a Republican Rushthuglibot?

Former Bush shyster Ted Olson supporting same-sex marriage

"Is Ted Olson a bisexual?" shriek the troglotards at freetardia.

Preznit Dimbulb McDumbass's first Solicitor General, Ted Olson, filed a lawsuit in US district court on May 22 to protest Prop 8, the California law banning same sex marriage. Joining with his former opponent in Bush v Gore, David Boies, Olson is suing on behalf of two same-sex couples in California.

"They are two lesbians who have intentionally deprived four children of a father, and aided some man in shirking his responsibility to his fellow citizens of taking care of the children he fathers," griped another hypocritical, weapons-grade stupid cumbucket from the Dittocave in his parents' basement.

Judge laughs off Andrew Giuliani's bid to sue Duke University for kicking him off its golf team.

Spoiled rich punk brat gets humiliated by judge quoting "Caddyshack" at him:

[U.S. District Court Magistrate Judge Wallace W.] Dixon quips that Giuliani's attempt to use a particular legal maneuver - one not recognized in North Carolina courts - "brings to mind Carl Spackler's analysis from the movie 'Caddyshack.'"

"He's on the final hole," Dixon writes, quoting Spackler, the movie's mumbling, gopher-chasing groundskeeper, played by comedian Bill Murray. "He's about 455 yards away, he's gonna hit about a 2 iron, I think."

As any golfer knows, a 2 iron would do little to close such a hefty gap.

Giuliani had been kicked off because of a series of angry outbursts, including breaking a club, "gunning" the engine of his car, throwing an apple at the face of former teammate and being disrespectful to a trainer.

Insufferable dipshit/hack tries to out-drudge drudge

After failing at television, simpering twit Fuck Tucker Carlson announced Tuesday the "right-leaning" news site he's been working on will go live in a couple of weeks.

Carlson will launch [the HuffPo-like] theDailyCaller.com, which he said would focus on reporting on the Obama administration and "adding facts to the conversation."

Facts? Really? Wow, that's quite a stretch for you, isn't it, Schmucker?

"We are a general-interest newspaper-format style site," Carlson told conservative bloggers at the Heritage Foundation on Tuesday. "There just aren't enough people covering this administration and telling the people what's going on."

Yeah, really! Almost nobody is covering this new guy in the White House. Good call. *snort*

"Tell the truth, and be accurate," Carlson said of the venture's goals. "It's very important to live up to the basic standards of journalism."

    * choke     cough    omfg!! *    So why are you starting now??

The site's motto, Carlson said, is "every seven minutes," and seeks to be "even faster than Drudge."

"The facts" in seven minutes? You couldn't do it in a half-hour, you lying, no-talent prick.

"It will not be a forum for discussing the future of the Republican Party," Carlson explained.

Good. That's because there is no future for the Rushbotlican party.

Why does Saint General Petraeus hate America?:

"I have long been on record as having testified and also in helping write doctrine for interrogation techniques that are completely in line with the Geneva Convention ...

Pennsylvania Republican Tom Ridge tells CNN that the head anal cyst of the rethug party is a divisive gasbag with incontinence issues.
Well, OK, only some of that was actually broadcast.

“I think Rush Limbaugh articulates his point of view in ways that offend very many,” Ridge said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

"That hideous, hateful windbag has an audience of 20 million people. Drooling troglodytes listen daily to him and live by every word. But words mean things and how you use words is very important," said Ridge, the former Homeland Security Secretary under Preznit LawnOrnament. "It does get the base all fired up and he's got a strong following. But personally, if he would listen to me and I doubt if he would, the notion is express yourself but let's respect others' opinions and let's not be divisive."

Colin Powell fires back at bitter, meanspirited pissholes

Blubbery bloviators bitchslapped by Obamacan --

“Rush will not get his wish and Mr. Cheney was misinformed – I am still a Republican,” Powell said in a much-anticipated rebuttal to the snarling psycho's suggestion two weeks ago that the retired general had left the party by endorsing Barack Obama last fall.

Powell outlined his party bona fides, noting his votes for and services under a string of Republican presidents, and said it was not up to Cheney and Limbaugh, two draft-dodging scumbags, to determine who belonged in the GOP.

“Neither [Cheney] nor Rush Limbaugh are members of the membership committee of the Republican Party,” Powell said. "Their members aren't members of the membership committee. If they even have any." Powell suggested that there were a number of moderates in the party who shared his concerns but were hesitant to speak out “because if you are vocal you’re going to get your voice mail filled up and get lots of e-mails like I did.”

Why do rushbotlicans hate our troops?

Reboobs panicking over Supreme Court pick

Senate republicans are swallowing their tongues and tightening their sphincters over Prez Obama's pick of Sonia Sotomayor, because of the political dangers of attacking a) a Hispanic, b) a woman, and c) a Hispanic woman.

Some aides acknowledge the need to tread delicately around Sotomayor as well, given that she would be the first Hispanic justice at a time when the GOP has lost Latinos as a critical constituency.

Rethuglicans could doom themselves to long-term minority status if they are perceived as preventing Ms. Sotomayor from becoming a judge, says an ex-Bunnypants advisor.

“You’ll have a bunch of white males leading the charge against a Hispanic woman and everybody from this day forward is going to know she’s totally qualified. It’s a bad visual. It’s bad symbolism for the Republicans.”

The Grand Old Obstructionist Party has been embroiled in a public argument over whether to tend to the ideological interests of its conservative, looney base or to expand its appeal to a wider variety of voters in order to regain its strength following the humiliating defeats of 2008.

“The GOP has to make a stand,” said Scott Reid, who worked on Bob Dole's 1996 presidential campaign. “This is what the base and social conservatives really care about, and we need to brand her a godless Islamocommiedefeatohomofascist socialist who kills babies and is probably a lesbian."

But some Republicans warned that the image of Republicans throwing a roadblock before an historic nomination could prove politically devastating.

"If Republicans make a big deal of opposing Sotomayor, we will be hurling ourselves off a cliff,” said Mark McKinnon, a senior adviser to Disaster McDumbass and a long-time advocate of expanding the party’s appeal. “Death will not be assured. But major injury will be.”

Bush-era officials reject Cheney security stance

Former VP's fearmongering a load of crap, say Bushies.

Two top Bush-era officials rejected lying sack of shit dick Cheney's scathing criticism of US President Barack Obama, saying the country's national security was not in jeopardy.

Defense Secretary Robert Gates, who served in the same post under former president Tipsy McStaggers, and Tom Ridge, the former head of homeland security, both voiced disagreement with Cheney a day after he attacked Obama's performance as the new commander-in-chief.

Ridge also said he was disappointed with Cheney, saying the bloated old fuck has a lot of nerve even talking about the subject of security, when he presided over the annihilation of over 3000 American citizens.
    Well, he should have, anyway.

Repukes now whine that their attacks on Pelosi have backfired

The Party of No fears their latest faux-outrage has allowed the Democrat-Socialists to "portray the controversy as a partisan attack by one of the GOP’s most polarizing figures." Actually, its two, with the inclusion of angry, bitter old draft-dodger dick Cheney. Three, if you count fat, closeted Nazi windbag Rush Limpbag. Four if you add Satan's porcine handmaiden Karl Rove.

After a one-two punch from ethically-challenged scumbags Newt Gingrich and Dick Cheney, permatanned WATB John Boehner and other republicans worry that their party has overplayed its hand on Nancy Pelosi.

“The best thing for anyone, let alone Nancy Pelosi, is to be the subject of a petty, venal, absurd attack by Newt Gingrich,” said Rep. Bill Delahunt (D-Mass.). “He’s the gift that keeps on giving.”

“If anything, people have circled the wagons around her,” said Democratic Caucus Chairman John Larson. “All you have to do is mention the names Karl Rove, Newt Gingrich and Dick Cheney as attacking the speaker of the House ... and people see this for what it is.”

Besides an attack by a bunch of disgusting, blubbery, pasty-assed misogynists.

Frank told the raving psycho hosebeast that far from being a bunch of Democratic cronies, ACORN's housing work received a lot of funding from the Bush administration.

As for the substance of Bachmann's amendment, he argued that the low bar of criminal accusation against individual members would give too much power to a prosecutor to go after a group -- and could affect folks such as AIPAC, whose indicted members later saw all the charges against them dropped, or even the House Republicans when dirty scumwad Tom DeLay was indicted.

New poll: majority of Americans love socialism

A new poll by CNN found that rethugs are deeper in the crapper than ever, as America refuses to buy any more of their pathetic, fearmongering, do-nothing bullshit.

As the Grand Old Obstructionist Party condemns what they call the Democrats' 'march to socialism', a new national poll indicates that most Americans believe President Barack Obama's policies would move the country in the right direction.

Sixty-three percent of people questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Wednesday say they think the policies being proposed by the President would push the nation in the right direction, with 35 percent saying 'mega-dittos, Rush!!' or some variation thereof.

Only 39% percent say that the policies of the GOP would move the country in the right direction, with the majority, 53 percent, saying the Corporate Welfare Party would move the nation further up the poopchute.

In related news, there's something seriously wrong with 35 - 39% of respondents to the latest CNN poll.

Boehner admits CIA lied to Congress

    Absolute obligation to investigate him!

Boner needs to make a public apology to Nancy Pelosi at the very least.

In an interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer on Wednesday, perma-tanned WATB John Boehner conceded that despite his attacks on Speaker Pelosi for accusing the CIA of lying to Congress, he too believes the CIA lied to Congress.

So do Pete Hoekstra, Arlen Specter and now even some in the media. Again, it was a question of 'shoot first, ask questions later' by the SCLM. Heckuva job, asshats.

    Prosecute Bush and Cheney, goddammit

For those who missed it, CNN's Jack Cafferty has had just about enough of this mamby-pamby bullshit:

The Bush presidency is thankfully over... but the damage he and Dick Cheney did continues to press on the nerve of the American people like an impacted wisdom tooth. And until the questions surrounding arguably the most arrogant and perhaps most corrupt administration in our history are addressed, the pain won't go away.

From Nancy ("Impeachment is off the table") Pelosi to President Barack ("I want to look forward, not backward") Obama, the country is being poorly served by their Democratic government. And on this subject President Obama is dead wrong. George W. Bush and his accomplices damaged this country like it's never been damaged before.

And it's not just the phony war in Iraq or the torture memos that justified waterboarding. It's millions of missing emails and the constant use of executive privilege and signing statements. It's the secretive meetings with Enron and other energy executives and the wholesale firing of federal prosecutors.

It's trying to get the president's personal attorney seated on the Supreme Court and that despicable Alberto Gonzales sitting in front of congressional investigators whining, "I don't remember, I don't know, I...etc."

It's the domestic eavesdropping in violation of the FISA Court, the rendition prisons, and the lying. It's looking the other way while the City of New Orleans drowned and its people were left to fend for themselves.

It's the violations of the Geneva Conventions, the soiling of our international reputation and the shredding of the U.S. Constitution.

It's the handing over of $700 billion to the Wall Street fat cats last fall, no questions asked. It's the no-bid contracts to firms like Halliburton and Blackwater and the shoddy construction and lack of oversight of reconstruction in Iraq that cost American taxpayers untold billions.

If the Republicans were serious about restoring their reputation, they would join the call for a special prosecutor to be appointed so that at long last justice can be done.

It's too late for George W. Bush to resign the presidency. But it's not too late to put the people responsible for this national disgrace in prison.

More US troops killed in Bush/Cheney vanity war

Three American soldiers were killed and nine others wounded Thursday in a bombing attack in an Indiana-like Baghdad market, just because the Bush/Cheney misadministration wanted to justify taking Saddam out/increase their approval ratings after letting 3000 + of our citizens get vaporized on 9/11.

Rushpublitards cut and run from idiotic, much-ridiculed proposal

As more and more republicans mocked the effort to relabel Dems as "stupid" and "absurd", the Rush Newt Cheney (RNC) Committee on Wednesday decided to drop the resolution.

Republican Party leaders are trying to avoid airing a family feud over a GOP effort to rename the Democratic Party the "Socialist Democrat" party...

Haley Barbour, the governor of Mississippi and a former head of the Republican National Committee, did not hesitate when asked to offer his opinion on the resolution:

“That doesn’t do any good,” he said. “That’s not useful. Calling people names isn’t useful.”

Mr. Barbour was not the only prominent Republican who opposed the resolution..

Mo-Diddy Steele, the RNC's black figurehead/laughingstock, also took issue with his party's puerile and inane nincompoopery.

Heh. When Michael Steele looks reasonable, you know your party's fucking batshit crazy.

Members of the Republican National Committee appear to have reached a compromise that would let GOP leaders avoid a possible dispute over a controversial resolution that calls on Democrats to re-name their party the “Democrat Socialist party.”

Steele has come out against the resolution, calling it “not an appropriate way to express our views on the issues of the day.” One of Steele’s allies on the committee, Florida GOP chairman Jim Greer, told CNN the resolution is “stupid” and “ridiculous.”

However, New Jersey committeeman David Norcross, one of the sponsors of the resolution, told CNN the language is being massaged so that Steele and others on the committee will be more receptive.

Still working hard for the American people. Cunt Tree First!
One hopes that Harry Reid doesn't comment on this.
    Oh, Al Gore is fat.

    On Summer's Eve.....

Spending a ton of money to continue to tie up an election in the courts......priceless. Now that's obstruction we can believe in.

....the National Republican Senatorial Committee has committed $750,000 to help Coleman pay his legal bills. A Republican official insists that this money is to help pay past legal bills -- not future ones that might be incurred if Coleman decides to take his case to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Incredible that one man's ego and one party's ignorance and arrogance has wasted so much time and money.
I guess you can fool 21% of the country some of the time.
    Fucking used douchenozzles.

These carbon based, humanoid life forms are becoming too ridiculous to blog about. It's hard difficult to make fun of them when they have already done it, and done so very well.
