US media wallows in amnesia, Bush-spooge
Except for Helen Thomas, the White House steno corps{e} continues to let Bush get away with being a brazen, pathological liar.

Short of calling tens of millions of people in the most wired culture in the world stupid and/or ignorant, how does one explain such a discrepancy between reality and propaganda?

It's not the message; it's the media. Right from the beginning, the pundits waved the flag, while their organizations shut out dissent.

[W]hen the hard realities have to compete with yet another unfiltered Bush radio address or another truthy-ish speech by Vice-President Dick Cheney, followed (sometimes) by "analysis" consisting of partisan bickering, then it's pretty clear which side tips the scales of positive coverage.
