Makin' progress
It's game time!

As we continue to turn the corner in Iraq, a car bomb attack in the lovely Indiana-like city of Baghdad exploded near a market, killing at least 12 Iraqis and wounding 43, while a suicide bomber killed another 50 people in the north.

This latest assault came on the heels of the deaths of five American troops and the kidnapping of three US soldiers by insurgents allegedly in their "last throes" and allied with al Qaeda.

In a related story of surging freedom, the United Nations' high commissioner for refugees reported that "the collapse of Iraq had created a refugee crisis, which is threatening to precipitate the collapse of the region. The numbers dwarfed anything that the Middle East had seen since the dislocations brought on by the establishment of Israel in 1948. Most of this movement has occurred in the last two years."

Meanwhile, Commander Awol McCodpiece fiddles while Iraq burns.
