Bush: the Baby Jeebus tol' me it wuz OK to whack 'em

"Kill them and let Me sorteth them out," the Holy Savior spoke unto Drinky McDumbass.

Bush defends wars on spiritual grounds: [Tipsy McStaggers] delivered a rousing defense of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan on Tuesday, mixing faith and foreign policy as he told a group of Christian broadcasters that his policies in the region were predicated on the beliefs that freedom was a God-given right and "every human being bears the image of our maker."

Calling freedom a "precious gift," Mr. Bush said: "The liberty we value is not ours alone. Freedom is not America's gift to the world; it is God's gift to all humanity."
"So God help me, we're gonna free them whether they like it or not!"

Jesus-fucking-Christ! How can the NYT even REPEAT that crap about 'Bush being almost too idealistic about wanting to spread democracy" without some negative (ie; REALISTIC) comment! By now it should be WAY BEYOND FUCKING OBVIOUS that W and friends were NEVER interested in anything more than
1.)OIL - first and foremost
2.)military hegemony for the sake
of it in and of itself
3.)keeping the 9/11 scare-tactics
energized for domestic political
purposes (essentially a
distractionary tactic)

They don't give a good god-damn about 'democracy' -- if they have a STRONG opinion about it at all, it's that they're AGAINST it! They could've been spending the $12 BILLION/month (that Maru posted on 3/10/08) on benevolent, positive efforts throughout the world! Instead, those kinds of expenditures are in the $ millions and MAYBE reach a $ billion once in awhile -- and of course when you look into the details it's typically some corporate welfare scam masquerading as international 'grants' or 'aid'.
