Europe is thrilled by the prospect that whatever happens this week it will mean the end of George W. Bush, and enraptured by the sheer spectacle of it all.
Not soon enough. At this point I don't care if he moves to his ranch in Paraguay with no extradition treaty as long as he never sets foot in this country again and we never have to see his smirky face or sniveling voice again.
Of course, even as a lame duck he is feverishly trying to cram through deregulation on consumer protections and wildlife protections. He is so full of hate he is still trying to stick it to us on his way out.
Europe is indeed crossing her fingers for Obama. Even the conservative Spanish press like El Mundo are explaining in their lead editorials their support for Obama. Good luck!!
